Entering your chili, salsa and/or frijoles in the Cook-Off is easy .... and it is free.
Just follow these simple steps.
Submit your registration, using the online form, by submitting a written copy to a FOL member or by telephone to Allan Browne at 661.613.2487.
Prepare your entry(s) - a large pot of chili or frijoles or a bowl of salsa with chips - and bring it to Abelardo L. Rodriguez Park/IMAC Center on Saturday August 3 at 11:00 a.m. Bring your serving utensils, tablecloth, heat source and list of ingredients. Set up your table and presentation.
From noon until 4 p.m. the public and the contest judges will come to your table to sample your entry and those of the other contestants. FOL will provided small bowls, tableware and napkins for the eaters who purchase tickets - you simply serve small sample portions to those who visit your table.
You may wish to purchase a ticket so that you can sample the entries of the other contestants: having a helper with you at your table will make that much easier.
Because your chili/or frijoles/or salsa is SO delicious, and because your presentation is so attractive and friendly, the judges name your entry as "Rosarito's Best"! Well, we hope so.... There will be awards for Best Chili, Best Frijoles and Best Salsa - and, there will be Peoples' Choice Awards in all three categories as well.
You'll have a great afternoon, while your cooking supports reading programs for kids.
