Friends of the Library believes that a person who reads will have a brighter future with more opportunities. We provide books in a city with few libraries and no bookstores. We create excitement about reading with innovative programs and train teachers, parents and other adults to continue these activities in their own communities. We have reached thousands of children; and through the children, their families, including parents and grandparents. Here is what they say about us:
“The truth is I didn’t read books before, but these books hooked me and I didn’t want to put them down.”

- Friends of the Library was established in 2006 by Rosarito residents who understood that people with a love of reading have a better quality of life.
- Our programs throughout the city aid and support readers by creating and implementing activities that encourage reading
- We train teachers, parents and other adults to promote reading in their schools and neighborhoods.
- We provide access to books that match the interest levels of all community members.
- We raise money for our projects through paid memberships, donations and community events.
