Our Bookmobile is on the road!

Picture
We made our first Bookmobile stop, in Primo Tapia's Rancho 40 colonia in the summer of 2019.

Since then we have expanded to other remote hillside neighborhoods where,  for a few hours we have storytelling, talk about reading for pleasure, and let children and parents discover the variety of books we have for them. We return biweekly for borrowers to return the books they have borrowed and select new ones to read.

In January 2020 we began visits to some of the schools where we are holding our "Rosarito Reads" reading programs. These school reading programs are designed to excite students to read, so we want to be there with the bookmobile to offer a rich supply of reading material for them.

It has been a great first year for our Bookmobile. Still, much is left to be done. We of course want to increase our locations and number of stops, so we are in always in need of  more drivers and volunteers so that we can extend our reach. As well, we are constantly working to increase our book offerings.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us at friendsofthelibraryrb@gmail.com. And please consider a donation to support this wonderful effort. Just click below to support the bookmobile with your donation.

The children and families of Rosarito thank you!
