We have exciting plans for the future

Pop-up libraries in neighborhoods with no access to library branches
Bringing technology into all the branches in conjunction with Denver Tech for All
Senior Reading Circles for older Rosarito residents, with opportunity to share their own life stories as they read
Family reading programs and friendly inter-family Jeopardy-style competitions based on the reading
Continued book donations to libraries to build their collections
Continued sponsorship of reading promotion events in the community
Continuing all of the programs we already have underway

With your support, the Rosarito Friends of the Library has accomplished many things. Here are some of our successes:

Five years of the Rosarito city-wide reading initiative, Rosarito lee (Rosarito reads), with programs in all 5 libraries, local schools, visits by the authors, and a Gran Evento at the Centro de Convenciones.
Expansion of the Rosarito Lee program into the La Mision area and into a Tijuana school near the northern end of Rosarito
Moms and Tots Story Time reading program in conjunction with Grupo Inicial de Educacion no Escolarizada (Early Childhood Education group)
We donated more than $7,000 worth of Spanish language books to the local public libraries
We donated more than $2,500 worth of library/art/craft supplies to the five libraries:
We sponsored and ran children’s reading programs at all five public libraries.
We've given prizes of new bicycles, skates, scooters, backpacks, books and school supplies to participants in the children’s reading programs. Sometimes tangible rewards can motivate reading at the beginning until the children realize that reading is its own reward

How is all this possible? It takes members.... and some of those members volunteering some of their time. Please consider joining the roster of FOL current members - at a level comfortable for you.

To continue these wonderful projects, and to expand them, the organization needs new members and more volunteers. Annual memberships are available at four levels, starting at only $15. We are a 501(c)3 organization:

BENEFACTOR ($500) Enables us to purchase 125 books in Spanish for the Rosarito lee program. Thank you! You will receive copies of the current Rosarito Lee books (in English or Spanish), 2 free tickets to our fundraisers, including the Holiday Home and Hidden Garden|Outdoor Spaces Tours, and your 1-year membership in Friends of the Library.

DONOR ($100) Enables us to purchase at least 20 books in Spanish for the Rosarito lee program. Thank you! You will receive the the current Rosarito lee books, 2 free tickets to the Holiday Home Tour and your 1-year membership in FOL.

SUPPORTER ($50) Enables us to purchase at least 8 books in Spanish for the Rosarito lee program. Thank you! You will receive a copy of one of the Rosarito lee books and your 1-year membership in FOL.

MEMBER ($15) Your one-year membership supports reading and literacy in Rosarito.
